- Plant – Summer bedding from May as the weather is warmer
- Lawns – Mow weekly and raise the cutting height to maintain lush green growth
- Divide – Spring flowering bulbs and replant or share with friends
- Container-grown plants – Need regular feeding and watering to look their best
- Capture and store rainwater – To use, as plants will need more water now
- Keep checking plants for pest and diseases – Do not put diseased plants in compost bins
- Shade greenhouses – Also open doors, windows and vents on hot days
- Deadhead flowers – On bedding plants and perennials to encourage more buds
